{"id":283,"date":"2011-01-28T10:58:02","date_gmt":"2011-01-28T09:58:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/blogs\/research\/?p=283"},"modified":"2011-01-28T10:58:02","modified_gmt":"2011-01-28T09:58:02","slug":"vmix-source-circa-2009","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/blogs\/research\/2011\/01\/28\/vmix-source-circa-2009\/","title":{"rendered":"vMix &#8211; source (circa 2009)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scott <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/2006\/creation\/vmix-20-is-here-or-almost-anyway\/#comments\">reminded<\/a> me yesterday that I&#8217;ve never published the sources of my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/2006\/creation\/vmix-20-is-here-or-almost-anyway\/\">vMix<\/a> USB mixing desk.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always wanted to, but I was reluctant because, you know&#8230; it was still not finished, not perfect, not well documented, code is a mess&#8230; I&#8217;ve been using it in all our performances since 2007, and I still love this thing. Especially the potentiometer\/led-ring combination. The real analog feeling of potentiometers with a center detent &#8211; but with visual feedback and the possibility to load a preset and to see which potentiometers are still sticking&#8230; I could not live without&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/blogs\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Screen-shot-2011-01-28-at-10.54.35.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-286\" title=\"Screen shot 2011-01-28 at 10.54.35\" src=\"http:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/blogs\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Screen-shot-2011-01-28-at-10.54.35-300x216.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/blogs\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Screen-shot-2011-01-28-at-10.54.35-300x216.png 300w, https:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/blogs\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Screen-shot-2011-01-28-at-10.54.35.png 575w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anyway &#8211; it is not finished, code is still a mess, documentation is missing and corrections to the hardware have never been added to the schematics. But that&#8217;s no reason to not publish the files, so here you go:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.anyma.ch\/blogs\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/vmix_2009.zip\">vmix_2009<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But beware: I just did a quick search of files related to the vMix and packed them all together &#8211; I think that&#8217;s the latest version but I&#8217;m not completely sure&#8230; also, there is a size\u00a0 limit in the freeware edition of Eagle, so I had to combine several parts of the channel strip layout in Illustrator&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So this are by no means complete building instructions, but better than nothing&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scott reminded me yesterday that I&#8217;ve never published the sources of my vMix USB mixing desk.
