- 3 pieces of plywood 1m x 5cm x 22mm
- Ready to glue
- I’m too impatient, hate waiting for the glue to settle
- Maïté with a raw videobass neck
- The neck after planing the fingerboard side, where I will glue the cutting template printout
- Ready to cut
- I almost forgot: before cutting the sides I should…
- …route the channel for the cables beneath the fingerboard
- cutting template for the side cut
- aligned to the top template.
- Ready for the band saw
- I cut from one side, then I stick the leftovers back together to one piece, so I’m able to do the cut from the other side at the right angle.
- Cutting 8mm more from both sides nead the headstock. We’ll attach the headstock here, later…
- Difficult cut. Fortunately this is only a prototype…
- Don’t forget the ground connection of the fingerboard befgore glueing it to the neck!
- Cables glued into the channel
- Aluminium fingerboard ready to be glued
- Afraid of cutting the cables by accident, I scotched them to the wood.
- A dowel will keep the neck attached to the body
- Difficult cutout for the frontside of the body
- The template for pressing the headstock
- Glueing and waiting…
- I should really be more patient… ;-)
